An Intrinsically Safe Ex gage, designed for taking reliable thickness measurements in all hazardous gas Zones (0, 1 & 2), coal mines and combustible dust Zones (21, 22). The Cygnus 1 Ex Ultrasonic Thickness Gage is a rugged, handheld, intrinsically safe instrument designed for taking reliable thickness measurements in Zone 0 Explosive Atmospheres – making it ideal for use in fuel depots, road and vessel tankers, mines, chemical plants, oil and gas, refineries, pipelines, hazardous storage tanks and other hazourdous enviroments. This intrinsically Safe UTG is also certified for safe use in combustible dust Zones (21, 22), such as flour mills, sugar plants, and wood manufacturing. - AUTOANG (Auto Angle) feature calculates the refracted angle of an angle beam wedge and utilizes it for Trigonometric flaw location projections.
- A standard USB connection allows for data to be downloaded from the flaw detector for further analysis or storage.
- The instrument’s 2 GB memory can be easily exchanged by SD cards up to 16 GB.
- Reports are produced in JPEG or BMP format so there is no need for special reading software.
- Backwall Echo Attenuator (BEA) helps to find very small defects, improving detectability.

Cyglink Computer Software (Available with PRO Variant)
CygLink is a Windows® based application used to transfer and manage data logger records, A-scans, B-scans, templates, measurement comments and material velocity tables. The program can generate PDF reports and export to Excel. It also displays A-scans and B-scans, allowing for after-the-event analysis of logged measurements. Designed for Windows 7® and above. 
Its molded rubber casing makes the USM Go+ the sturdy instrument you need in the sometimes harsh conditions of ‘the field’. It is dust and waterproof to IP67 and has been tested according to military standards.
