Description
This set of probe shoes adapts a type D impact device to match the contour of the test piece, for greater stability when testing. The result is improved accuracy and repeatability. Includes various support rings for use on concave, convex, and cylindrical surfaces. Compatible with most brands of impact device.
ASTM A956-06 permits Leeb hardness testing of test pieces with concave or convex surfaces down to a 30mm radius of curvature. However, this standard requires that the radius of curvature of the test piece is matched to the size of the support ring.
For hardness testing of cylindrical outside diameter surfaces such as pipes, this set includes:
- Z 10-15 (for testing cylindrical OD with a 10 to 15 mm radius)
- Z 14.5-30 (for testing cylindrical OD with a 14.5 to 30 mm radius)
- Z 25-50 (for testing cylindrical OD with a 25 to 50 mm radius)
For hardness testing of cylindrical inside diameter surfaces, this set includes:
- HZ 11-13 (for testing cylindrical ID with an 11-13 mm radius)
- HZ 12.5-17 (for testing cylindrical ID with a 12.5 to – 17 mm radius)
- HZ 16.5-30 (for testing cylindrical ID with a 16.5 to – 30 mm radius)
For hardness testing of spherical outside diameter surfaces, this set includes:
- K 10-15 (for testing spherical OD with a 10 to 15 mm radius)
- K 14.5-30 (for testing spherical OD with a 14.5 mm to 30 mm radius)
For hardness testing of spherical inside diameter surfaces, this set includes:
- HK 11-13 (for testing spherical ID with an 11 to 13 mm radius)
- HK 12.5-17 (for testing spherical ID with a 12.5 to 17 mm radius)
- HK 16.5-30 (for testing spherical ID with a 16.5 to 30 mm radius)
